The Club is situated on the Great Lake, Welbeck, just south of Welbeck Abbey. At over 2 km long, The Great Lake is easily one of the longest sailing lakes in the area.

The club members come from the many small local villages nestled in the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire borders and the nearby towns such as Worksop, Warsop, Ollerton, Retford and Mansfield. Parts of Chesterfield and Sheffield are within easy traveling distance.

Unlike most of the Dukeries, Welbeck Estate is still privately owned and was the home of the Dukes of Portland until 1977. It is now in the care of Mr William Parente, grandson of the seventh Duke and it is administered by the Welbeck Estates Company Ltd. You can learn more about the estate from the Welbeck Estate website.

Mr William Parente is the life President of the Club.

Access to the lake is restricted and members and visitors must use the authorised route shown on the map. There are security barriers for which Members have keys so please contact the Club to arrange a visit.
