Try Sailing Event 27th July 2014

July 27th 2014 Welbeck Sailing Club is hosting a “try sailing for free” event. This will give novice sailors or prospective members the opportunity to discover our club and try sailing with us.

We have a few single handed dinghies to try, a few larger boats, some members will be offering tours in their boats and there is always a race to watch.

As we are located on the beautiful and private Welbeck estate all visits must be by arrangement. For safety reasons numbers on the Great Lake are limited but please drop us an email and we will always try to accommodate visitors if at all possible.

To help everyone get the opportunity to participate visitors are asked to select a nominal session time: 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 or 3:30, but of course guests are welcome to stay for the day. Indeed, weather permitting WSC is a great place for a family picnic.

Sailing is a great family outdoor skill based sport, but of course it is entirely dependant on suitable weather. Regretfully access to the water may be curtailed if we deem the weather too hazardous for novice sailors.

Whilst, of course, buoyancy aids and safety boat cover will be provided, all would-be sailors must be competent swimmers. Non-sailing guests are welcome, but all minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

For those wanting to get out on the water for a taster session please bring a change of clothes and a towel – just in case!
