RYA Training

Welbeck Sailing Club is proud to be affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association – The RYA.

As an established RYA training centre we run an assortment of RYA training programmes throughout the year. This means we can offer certification to various levels in both sailing and power-boating. Of course, as a small friendly club our more experienced members and instructors will often give learners informal tips and coaching to help complement the official training program.

Whilst this page is intended to illustrate the planned RYA training events at Welbeck, bear in mind that our instructors may tailor courses and dates to suit the needs and convenience of their students.

RYA training is open to both members and non-members of our club. Typically it will take place as part of a small group over the course of four Saturday afternoons. The small groups help to maximise the individual coaching time spent with instructors out on the water. As you would expect, full safety equipment (subject to availability) and rescue boat cover will be provided and at Welbeck Sailing Club we are proud of our safety record.

The club fees are traditionally inexpensive and in keeping with this our training course fees are set at a very competitive rate. In practice, we believe this represents the best value training available locally. RYA Dinghy Sailing Levels 1 & 2 are each being offered at only £80 per student. The exact cost for any other training program may vary due to many factors, so please do not hesitate to contact us (with no obligation whatsoever) for more details.

Places are limited and are allocated on a strictly first-come-first-served basis.

Please book early to avoid disappointment.
